He was born in 1971 and gratuated with top honours from the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia in Rome, and thereafter from the Musikhochschule in Freiburg, where he studied under S. Esposito and K. Kashkashian. He also took master classes with B. Giuranna and J. Bashmet. He has received the Special Prize from the Cologne Cultural Association, and in 1994 won an award at the Lionel Tertis Competition. He plays first viola with the Orchestre des Jenues de la Mediterranée, and is a member of the European Community Orchestra. In 1994 Riccardo Muti chose him to play first viola with the Orchestra of the La Scala Theatre in Milan. He has made several recordings as a soloist performer and as a member of chamber music ensembles. He belongs to the “I Solisti della Scala” ensemble and teaches at the L. Perosi International Academy of Biella, as well as the Academy of the Philharmonic of La Scala.
