Graduated from the Tchaikovsky Conservatory, Moscow, under N. Chakovskaia. From
1977 to 1980, he was a member of the Soloist Ensemble of the Moscow
Conservatory, conducted by S. Richter. From 1981 to 1985, he played in the
Moscow State Symphonic Orchestra. He then became part of the Moscow Soloists,
directed by Y. Bashmet, giving concerts all over the world. Presently he
participates in various international festivals, particularly in France, where
at the “Mai Musical de Bordeaux” festival, he plays in trio with Y.
Bashmet and P. Amoyal. He teaches at the Nîmes Conservatory. Since 1994
he has been teaching cello at the music seminar in Capestan.
